Everyone likes a good story, but the LaborChart Content Studio loves them — it's our jam. Our customers have a lot of good ones and it's our job to listen, ask questions about their business, LaborChart journey and see where the conversation takes us. We talk about different projects they’ve worked on, family life, what’s happening next month and so much more.
Last month was Turner, an international construction services company with roughly 10,000 employees. This time around, we’d like to share Messer’s journey with you. Who they are, what they did before LaborChart and why they chose to onboard a digital workforce management platform. It’s a good one. Cheers and enjoy.
Messer: Building Solutions to Enhance the Places We Call Home
Messer Construction Co., is a billion-dollar general contractor focusing on aviation, federal/military, health care, industrial and other complex projects that spread throughout the South and Midwest.
Founded in 1932, Messer is an employee-owned business and achieved nearly $1.1 billion in annual revenue in 2018. From Charlotte, North Carolina to Nashville, Tennessee, their purpose is to build better lives for their customers, communities and each other.
People, Project and Accounting Software Integration
To help keep up with their work and organize all of their data, Messer has historically used a combination of software systems and manual processes to oversee labor scheduling. It was inefficient and limited their ability to positively scale. Headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, Messer needed a way to manage their people across states and communicate from anywhere, at any time. To start, Messer found LaborChart and integrated the cloud-based workforce management platform with Viewpoint, a construction software supporting accounting, project management and field teams for nearly 8,000 construction companies worldwide.
Together, LaborChart and Viewpoint make it possible for Messer to manage project dates, staff schedules, labor availability and location. By syncing people, project and financial data between both systems, Messer eliminated the possibility of duplicate data entry and can now leverage real-time information across their entire business.
LaborChart + Viewpoint: Accessing Data Anytime, Anywhere
Messer knew their outdated systems and old technology was holding them back, and they were right. By taking advantage of the LaborChart and Viewpoint integration partnership, the general contractor can better understand how their people and current projects are doing but also forecast ahead, track certifications, communicate with their entire roster and so much more.
